I'm Shedding More Than Usual

Something's Changing with My Hair

Who is this for?

This is for you whether your hair loss came on suddenly, slowly, or you're starting to see scalp where you didn't before — because these often need different starting points, and the first job is figuring out which one you're dealing with.

If it came on suddenly, your shedding picked up after something changed— such as a baby, surgery, an illness, a new medication, stress, or a hormonal shift. Your hair wasn't doing this before, and now you're seeing more of it in the shower, on your pillow, and in your brush. It feels unexpected and out of pattern.

If it's been gradual, the change crept up over years. A part that keeps widening. A ponytail that's thinner than it used to be. Less fullness overall. Nothing dramatic on any single day, but looking back, the difference is real — and it may run in your family.

If you can see your scalp: the part that's showing through, thinner spots at the crown, or scalp that's more visible under bright light or when your hair is wet. Seeing scalp where you used to see density is one of the clearest signs it's time for a closer look.

Sudden shedding, long-term thinning, and visible scalp can each have different causes and different plans. Guessing which one you have is how people waste months on the wrong products. We start by figuring out what's actually happening, then build a plan around it.

Common reasons hair thins, sheds, or loses density

  • Hormonal shifts — postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, thyroid, PCOS
  • Genetic patterns of thinning that run in your family
  • A new medication or a change in prescription
  • Surgery, illness, or fever
  • Physical or emotional stress
  • Nutritional gaps or sudden weight changes
  • Scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis or ongoing irritation
  • Age-related changes to the hair and follicle over time
  • Styling tension and product habits

Some of these I can support cosmetically. Others point to something a medical provider should evaluate — and if I see those signs, I'll tell you plainly and help you find the right next step.

Your plan may include

  • A full scalp and hair analysis with scalp imaging
  • A Scalp Reset to calm irritation and clear buildup
  • Supportive in-studio scalp treatments matched to what we find.
  • Custom home-care recommendations to maintain progress between visits.
  • Lifestyle and nutrition guidance within my scope
  • A referral to a medical provider when lab work or a diagnosis is needed

This step is about clarity — we find the root cause, then build the plan around what your scalp and hair are showing. No guarantees of regrowth, just an honest direction.
